2010 NVCA Annual Meeting
am2010gallerybuttonOn May 4-5, 2010 more than 700 venture capitalists gathered at the Hyatt San Francisco Airport Hotel in Burlingame, CA to catch up with friends and colleagues, hear from venture capital industry leaders, technology experts, respected institutional investors and public policy insiders. It was an important time for the venture industry to come together as systemic market challenges, the aftermath of the financial crisis and an unprecedented number of policy threats had propelled the venture capital industry to a critical juncture.
With a refreshing format that featured more keynote speakers and fire-side chats, the 2010 NVCA Annual Meeting explored the critical issues that will define the future of venture capital:
  • Challenging Fundraising Environment
  • Changing Composition of the Venture Industry
  • Weak Exit Markets and Proactive Strategy for Improvement
  • Unrelenting Threat of Regulation, Taxation and Other Policy Reforms
  • Changing Mix of Investment Opportunities
  • Acquisitions – Which Corporations Will Be Leading The Recovery?
  • Leveraging R&D Spending and Government Support of Emerging Technologies
  • A vibrant venture capital industry in the future is dependent on our industry's response to our current challenges.
